How to use it

  1. Open Video Converter and drop in your video.
  2. Pick the format you need: MP4, WebM, or animated GIF.
  3. Convert, preview, and download.

Good to know

  • One finished conversion uses one action.
  • Animated GIFs are capped at 15 seconds, because a GIF longer than that is a video wearing a costume.
  • Rendering happens on your device, so long videos convert at the speed of your computer.
  • If your video is already in the format you pick, the converter repacks it without re-encoding, which is much faster.
  • Videos taller than 720 pixels are converted at 720 tall. Big recordings are where browser conversion goes to die, and 720 is plenty for posting and sharing.
  • Changed your mind mid-conversion? Cancel it. A cancelled conversion uses no action.

Your data

Your video never leaves your device. Conversion happens entirely in your browser.

Tips

  • Making a GIF? Trim the moment first with Video Trimmer, then convert. A tight 4-second GIF beats a wandering 15-second one.
  • MP4 is the safe choice when the destination is unknown. Everything plays MP4.

Questions

Does my video get uploaded anywhere? +

No. The whole conversion happens in your browser.

Why is my GIF only 15 seconds? +

GIFs balloon in size fast. Fifteen seconds keeps the file shareable; for anything longer, convert to MP4 instead.
