Questions, answered

Do I need an account?

No. Mix videos as a guest with 15 free actions, or create a free account for 75 actions every month. See pricing.

Do my video and MP3 get uploaded anywhere?

No. The mixing happens entirely in your browser. Your video and your MP3 never leave your device.

How does the mix work?

Your video's own sound keeps playing from start to finish at the volume you set. Each snippet you place plays on top of it, at the time you picked, at the MP3 volume you set. Two sliders, one for each, so the balance is yours.

Can I use the same part of the MP3 more than once?

Yes. Snip a part once, or snip a few different parts, and place each one wherever it belongs in the video. The same chorus can absolutely come back for an encore.

What files can I use?

Videos in MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, or AVI, up to 100 MB, and an MP3 for the sound you are laying over it.

Putting music on a video, the short guide

How it works here

Drop in a video and an MP3. Snip the good bits of the song, pin each one where it should play, and set how loud everything sits. Snippets can repeat, overlap the original audio, and each source has its own volume. A video with no sound of its own still mixes fine. The render happens in your browser; neither file ever leaves your device. One finished mix uses one action, and placing snippets and previewing are free.

Mix quieter than feels right

Pull the song down further than seems right under dialogue. If you are noticing the music while someone is talking, it is too loud. You can always lift it in the preview; your viewers cannot turn it down.

Land it a breath early

Pin a snippet a breath before the moment it is for. Music that lands exactly on the action feels late, because the ear registers the hit after the eye sees it.
